A Twinkle of Trouble
A Twinkle of Trouble is the 5th book in the “A Fairy Garden Mystery” series. Courtney can see and speak to fairies, and many of her customers at the garden center can see their own fairies. But one of her newest friends and customers is murdered, and Courtney sets out to find the killer. With a business to run, a new garden plot to keep up, a festival to attend, and her many other activities, she is beginning to run herself ragged, but she can’t believe that one of the people she knows may be responsible for a death. No amount of work will keep her from the truth.
I really enjoy this series, it speaks to my gardening heart, as well as my need for flights of fancy. The characters are always interesting, the plot never fails to impress, and the sleuthing keeps me on my toes. This book was no exception. I spent a few fun-filled hours imagining fairies, gardens, and murder clues. The story has a satisfying ending and a suspenseful reveal. The recipes in the back of the book sound and are delicious, if you are into baking, these recipes will keep you in the kitchen for days. My only complaint is that I would like either Courtney’s father or boyfriend to finally see a fairy, and I am sure they would, but I had hoped it would happen in this edition. Otherwise, pick this one up when it hits the shelves and dive headfirst into a fairyland of delight.
Check out another of the books in this series, A Flicker of Doubt.
