Essence of Foul Play

I always look forward to a new series, especially from one of my favorite authors, and this book was no exception. I was excited by the setting as my favorite series from this author is centered in the area as well. I got a kick out of the Nane Lissa character; she’s the kind of grandmother I always dreamed of. But… I wasn’t crazy about Emma; maybe she’ll grow on me. Sierra, I think, will be a great character as well. I also like the spa aspect, which isn’t the usual type of setting. The mystery was okay, but I knew almost instantly who the killer was. I feel that this series will improve with each book; after all, the first time I read the fairy series, I wasn’t a big fan, but after the second book, I became one.
