Gone With the Witch
Take an old outhouse, add in some human bones, a few disappearances, and a magical librarian and you have everything you need for a mystery. Josie isn’t sure if a game show contestant is her friend’s long-lost husband, or if a night of drinking has clouded Helen’s mind but she offers to help track down the contestant, and Helen’s missing husband. Of course, what she finds is more mystery and a killer.
Gone With the Witch is the fifth book in this series, and it is as much fun today as it was when Book 1 came out. I love Josie and all of her friends. Books that can answer almost any question are every reader’s dream. Josie isn’t just any librarian obviously, she’s a witch, but one with very special powers. I really enjoyed this latest installment of the series. It speaks to my need to solve all mysteries with as little concern for the heroine’s safety as possible. The addition of Sherlock Holmes gave this story a whimsical feel that I found very intriguing. The outhouse setting made me laugh. Josie solves the case as usual, and everyone is left happy, especially readers. I wish Josie would tell Sam about her power, as I feel that delaying it will cause a real problem later on. It’s not a complaint, just a statement on this ongoing matter. If you want a witchy, easy-to-read series, this is the one for you.
Enjoy another book in this series such as Witch Upon a Star.
